Some fashions are obvious, classic, and enduring.
A good red lipstick.
The LBD.
Every outfit in that one montage bit in The Devil Wears Prada*.
Then there are things that are only in vogue for a short time, like cow print, skirts over jeans, and the Evergiven.
Here’s our roundup of 2025’s biggest food trends, to make sure you and your table stay à la mode.

Nostalgia
Think Sunday morning cartoons, double maths, and Findus Crispy Pancakes; 2025 is all about that cosy childhood feeling. In sweets, we’re seeing a return of some classic flavours like bonbons, coconut ice, and peanut brittle. For a more savoury take, think French onion soup, prawn cocktail, and coronation chicken.
This year, we’ve also seen a rise in newstalgia, which is taking classic childhood flavours and giving them a fun, modern twist. Haribo released Nostalgix earlier this year, taking classic British sweetshop flavours, like pear drop and pineapple cube, and creating a family-friendly gummy; we’ve also seen an old-as-new revamp of Walkers crisps, with retro-inspired packaging and kitsch flavours like Masala Chicken.
Try this trend out at home with a Saturday morning PB&J French toast, made with our hearty farmhouse, or go full family dinner by pairing a homemade spaghetti bolognese with some of our garlic and rosemary focaccia. The ‘90s were all about double carbs.
Pistachio
Whether it’s food, fashion, or film, 2025 is really bringing a whole new meaning to ‘going green’. Pistachio has been a consistent flavour trend this year, and it looks like Dubai-style everything is here to stay. We’ve seen loaded pistachio cream croissants, pistachio tiramisu, pistachio lattes, pistachio mochi ice cream, pistachio nougat, pistachio baklava-
(you know when you write a word too much and then it loses all meaning?)
Heading into autumn, we’re looking at how we can incorporate this trendy nut into some more warming and cosy dishes. Combine chopped pistachios with some crispy breadcrumbs and Italian herbs, and you’ve got a perfect crust for a baked fish dish. Update a rack of lamb with a pistachio-enriched dukkah, or throw a handful over your salad for an indulgent crunch.
If you’re looking for something a bit more lunch-friendly, pick up one of Guild’s new fig, prosciutto, and pistachio pesto sandwiches for a lunchtime treat that’s totally on trend and, more importantly, delicious.
Swicy
Hot honey is still this year’s topping of choice - we’ve been seeing it everywhere, from coffee to pizza to cocktails. Gen Z seems to be shifting the dial even further towards sweet and spicy Asian flavours, with chilli tamarind chutney and gochujang barbecue sauce becoming more and more common as dips and dressings.
If you’re looking to get on this, try using our kimchi sourdough as a base for a Korean-inspired toastie. Use a blend of mild cheddar and shredded mozzarella for an Insta-worthy cheese pull, fry the sandwich in butter, then (trust us on this) sprinkle some granulated sugar over the top of your sandwich. Finish it with a drizzle of ketchup and mustard for a messy but moreish teatime treat.
We’re also seeing more swicy flavours appearing on drink menus. Spicy margaritas are having a moment, or, if you’re looking for something on-trend but alcohol-free, try making this spicy mango lemonade at home. Add a Tajin or chilli lime rim, and you’ll be warmed from the inside out as the nights draw in.
Pumpkin spice
I mean, it’s obvious, isn’t it?
